The Beginning...
Founded in 1979, Seagull Solutions, Inc. released their first patented product: a "Capless Bladder Chuck" in support of the first media production tester. From this humble beginning Seagull has developed a wide variety of products and capabilities to serve the disk drive and semiconductor industries. Besides developing a "world class" line of proprietary media clamps, Seagull was the first to develop:
- Crashproof Air Bearing Technology
- Carbide disk seating surfaces that resist wear and damage to media from embedded debris
- High speed spindles with load and stiffness capacities exceeding that of low speed spindles
- Integral pressure/vacuum circuits functionally separated from the air bearing primary circuits
- Hard disk processing equipment based on O.D. roller drive (wet and dry process equipment) (patented)
- Automatic load compensating, vacuum preloaded air pad technology (patented)

Seagull currently holds 12 patents with 5 pending. Our production capability is up to 300 spindles per month.
